COPFAC Meeting Notes

These are my notes from our meeting this month. I am not speaking for the COPFAC board, just my notes from TCFC's perspective.

National Convention Planning

  • We met to discuss our options for the 2027 and 2028 National Conventions. We have received alot of information back from our outside meeting planner (the same one that found our options for the Coronado National Convention and then helped us to negotiate the best terms for that event). This list of possible destinations began with a pretty wide list of options we wanted to receive info on:

    • Dude Ranches (All-Inclusive)

    • Snow Skiing Resorts (eliminated from consideration after Nashville Convention)

    • Caribbean All-Inclusive Resorts

    • Caribbean Cruises (5 days)

    • Hawaii (Mauii resorts)

After receiving and reviewing the initial round of information received from the planner, we are realizing that the targeted events we are considering are all better suited for our special 2028 National Convention which will be our 40th Anniversary.

  • So, TCFC recommended that we shift gears and plan for the 2027 National Convention to be held back in Myrtle Beach (1 year ahead of our normal 3 year rotation). Which will allow us to select the best "special" 40th Anniversary location for everyone to attend in 2028.

  • TCFC has requested detailed quotes for the 4 different options we identified above for our convention in April of 2028. Our plan is to compile all the relevant info and costs for each option and then survey the franchise system for your input on selecting the best option. You can expect to be receiving this info within the next 2 months.

  • For the 2027 National Convention, we are committed to following through with many of the initiatives we discussed at the Nashville Convention. Namely, Advanced, hands-on technical training scheduled before, during and after the convention sessions in Myrtle Beach. Also, individual attention for sales and marketing needed in areas via scheduled appointments and individual training. We are starting now with the development of the tools and resources needed to support franchisees in their efforts to expand their markets to Service Drive, Retail, Fleet and other customer bases. These efforts will include the development of training video segments designed to cover each individual need of existing and new franchise owners. The convention will also mark the kickoff of our Technician Certification processes.

  • We will share more on our thoughts and plans for the 2027 Convention at this month's Franchisee Zoom Meeting when we ask for your input on the details of our Certification requirements and ways to achieve those certification designations.

Performance Incentive Program.

Our Performance Incentive Program provided in all Franchise agreements may be adjusted from time to time for changes such as inflation or market changes. Some franchise owners have asked about the current plan for any potential changes to the program structure for new Franchise owners. Specifically, changes to the PIP incentive tiers. TCFC committed to pulling detailed data on the number and percentage of Unit Franchisees that currently would qualify under the 3 different Performance Incentive Program tiers that have been established over the past 20 years. TCFC will provide the data to COPFAC so that we can all review the information and then schedule a discussion for this topic at a future meeting.
